Melanie is the Climate and Environment Strategy Manager at Exelon Corporation, which is one of the largest electric and gas utilities in the United States. Her responsibilities include managing the greenhouse gas inventory for the corporation, as well as coordinating the corporation’s overall response to climate change. Building on her experience from the administration of the corporation’s original Exelon 2020 goal, achieved in 2013, which focused on cost effectively abating 17.5 million metric tons of GHG emissions by 2020, Exelon’s program now focuses on continued GHG mitigation from operations, reducing overall GHG emissions associated with electric generation and integrating adaptation and resiliency efforts into standard business practices. Ms. Dickersbach also supports the evolution of broader sustainability strategies within the corporation, as well as internal and external annual corporate sustainability reporting and web communications.
Prior to joining Exelon, Ms. Dickersbach worked for a variety of industries providing environmental permitting and compliance support, with a focus on air pollution management, pollution prevention and waste minimization.
