Julia Pyper is the vice president of public affairs at GoodLeap, a leading financial technology company focused on accelerating the deployment of sustainable home solutions, where she oversees government relations and policy-related communications. She also supports GoodLeap’s non-profit partner GivePower, which develops clean water and clean energy systems for communities in need around the world.
Julia is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council think tank, which is focused on promoting international energy security. She’s also the host and creator of Political Climate, a podcast presented by Canary Media and the USC Schwarzenegger Institute.
Previously, she served as the inaugural Storyteller in Residence for the cleantech startup accelerator New Energy Nexus, helping early-stage companies grow their public profiles. Prior to that, Julia spent a decade working as a climate and energy reporter. She was a senior editor for the cleantech industry news outlet Greentech Media, where she covered the global energy transition. Prior to that, she reported on climate policy for E&E News from Washington D.C. She’s conducted several international projects, including in Haiti, Israel, Germany, and India. Her writing has also been published in HuffPost, Scientific American, and The New York Times.
