Adam leads the sustainable operations team at World Energy and heads the digital system to transfer environmental attributes independent of physical fuel delivery. He co-led aviation’s first long-term Book & Claim contracts that will catalyze a new market. Adam is also the elected Board Chair of the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB).
In his previous role at the energy think tank Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), Adam was the chief architect of the sustainable aviation fuel certificate (SAFc) concept, a first-of-its-kind market instrument mitigating scope 3 (indirect) supply chain emissions. At RMI he co-founded the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) with the Environmental Defense Fund.
Before RMI, Adam worked in consultancies and for the Federal government advancing sustainable transportation. He holds a master’s in environmental science and policy from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree in English from Hobart College.
