Join fellow sports fans for a one-hour behind-the-scenes tour highlighting the sustainability efforts and features of Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Pistons. In May 2018, Little Caesars Arena was named the Sports Facility of the Year Award by Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily, and in July 2019, the arena received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. Learn about Little Caesars Arena’s sustainable initiatives including an ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) roof, water efficiency measures, an erosion and sedimentation control plan, corrugated cardboard recycling program and reduced energy usage. Attendees will meet in the 2nd floor lobby at 12:30 PM and walk to the arena together (8 blocks, 0.7 mile)
Explore O’Shea Solar Park, Detroit’s first urban solar array and sustainability-focused park! Re-imagined through a collaboration between The City of Detroit and DTE Energy, the park features 9.6 acres of solar panels along with a bioretention garden, new trees and native flower beds. Building upon the theme of sustainability, DTE Energy has partnered with Bees in the D, a local non-profit organization, to install two 20”x 20” industrial beehives at the park, and representatives from Bees in the D and DTE will be there to describe the partnership. Attendees will meet inside near the Michigan Avenue entrance near Starbucks at 12:15 PM. The shuttle will leave promptly at 12:40 PM. This tour will return to the hotel by 2:45 PM.

Join us at the TCF Center to learn the ins and outs of this convention center’s sustainable design & green programs. This behind-the-scenes look will highlight the TCF Center as an award-winning LEED Gold level certified facility with impressive initiatives focused on waste diversion and energy efficiency.
