Erin Walsh serves as the Global Sustainability Lead at MetLife, overseeing the goal-setting and sustainability strategy for greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green buildings, supply chain and sustainable investment. Under her management, MetLife became the first U.S-based insurance company to achieve carbon neutrality and is currently on-target to achieve the company’s global 2020 sustainability goals. Recently, Erin championed MetLife’s first healthy buildings strategy, becoming the first life insurance company to achieve Fitwel.
Prior to MetLife, she worked in environmental consulting on projects, such as life-cycle analyses for U.S. Department of Defense, climate change resiliency assessments for NYC Mayor’s Office, and optimization studies for the EPA. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University, and has served with AmeriCorps and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
